college orientation 11th and 12th grade

College is right around the corner...Are YOU prepared? This program is for juniors and seniors in high school who are in the process of finalizing their college choices, applying to colleges and going through the transition of being a high school upperclassman to a college freshman. The topics covered in these workshops include academic and social transitions tips such as how to master college fairs, scholarship resources, resume building, application assistance, college essays, Free Application for Federal Student AID (FAFSA) assistance, mental health preparation, steps after being admitted, interview skills, college life, career discovery and so much more. Students in this program will be prepared for the transition. 

 

crossroads pathways

The Crossroads Pathways program is an intervention mentorship that promotes a successful academic career for students that have been through juvenile justice system or alternative detention centers and schools in the local community. The goal for this mentorship is to restore hope within our students while showing the true benefits for attending and graduating from college. This program takes prospective students and walks them through the process of becoming a successful student while they are on probation and beyond. Students will go through a semester long program where they will receive information about financial aid, volunteer hour opportunities, school tours, and so much more. 

 

FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP

Do you know your options for paying for school? When you are a college student, being financially literate is a way to being successful while in school and even when you get into the real world. Topics covered in this program will teach students banking tips, different types of financial aid options, spending wisely and various tips for being able to pay for school.

 

 

Graduates in Training (G.I.T)

You’re in college. Now what? This program is for college-aged students who are looking for tips to being a successful graduate at your respective institution. Students who participate in this program will have the opportunity to be peer mentors in students in other G.L.O.B.A.L programs while being mentored by others in their respective fields. Topics covered in this program will teach students banking tips, tips for maintaining their scholarships, and so much more.

 
 

GLOBAL Impact (Middle School Aged Students)

It is never too early to getting prepared to go college. Your senior year of high school will be here before you know it and it is great to get a headstart on the tools needed early! Topics covered in this program will teach students on what will be needed in high school in order to prepare themselves for the college level such as studying tips, college search processes, PSAT, GPA objectives, resume building and interpersonal skills that will be needed when they step onto a high school campus.

 

jumpstart college 9th and 10th grade

College is 2-3 years away and the time to prepare for it is NOW! Students who participate in this program will undergo several courses that include test taking tips for the preparation of the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test, future career exploration, college tours, learning styles, and so much more. It is never too early to discuss academic transitions and the time spent in high school can be utilized to learn and practice habits that will be helpful for these students going into their upperclassmen years in high school between being a high school senior to a college freshman and will be able to transition to the college life and the changes and challenges this new adventure will bring successfully. 

 
 
 
 
 

transfer sessions

Going from a 2-year college to a 4-year institution can be both stressful and a big change for any student. Student going through this workshop can narrow down their college possibilities and tips on how to successfully make the transition of attending a 2-year community college to a 4-year institution. Workshop for transfer students will also cover resources on how to pay for school, work-life balance, transfer credit information and tips on how to market yourself as a transfer student and prepare for your transfer. 

 

 

transition for parents

Your child is well on their way to being a student in college...Are you prepared? The transition of a college student would not be complete without the parents(s). Workshop for parents in this program include topics of filing out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the art of letting go and allowing your student to fly, and other tips for helping and assisting your student's transition.
